More Optional Missions could also afford the chance to design some interesting maps, to test players tactical skills in perhaps disadvantageous starts, or to undergo specific objectives simultaneous to regular combat. Things that don't need to break the game and it's difficulty progression, but perhaps offer some new options in how we handle fights. Some additional things to look at as a possibility could be more Optional Missions, new Skills/Spells, and maybe some more Unique/Legendary gear. But we all seem unified that Rapport should be carried over for sure. It would need to be determined how balancing/difficulty would work if things like Level, Gear, Items would carry over.
